4th of July is one of my fave holidays and one that inspires fun red, white & blue decorating; pulling out the star pillows from the closet and hanging the flag outside, etc..
Sending my fave patriotic pictures to inspire you to decorate for those patriotic holidays or rooms with an American twist.
Classic & sweet American porch from Cherry Hill Cottage.
Flags in potted plants are an easy and inexpensive way to decorate in a very classic way. I like her cute banner in red, white & blue with “celebrate” . Visit her blog to see how you can purchase one!Clever idea for the outside of a powder bathroom door.
LOVE this idea above to display a quilt collection through a screen door & make a hallway end “pop”.
Another use of a screen door above, used as an architectural element. Notice how the curve of the screen door relates to the curve of this magnificent staircase. Painting the stairwell door red makes it also pop as art. A staircase runner of seagrass would be a great addition as well.
Love how the designer from Bear-Hill Interiors used red on the ceiling & ceiling fan, as well as taking the curtains all the way to the ceiling. Visually makes the room tall and very dramatic.
Photo via Bear Hill Interiors.Creative idea above. Looks like they used a retro scarf from a New England travel for the base of the quilt.
Cool cruiser bike and precious porch!
Classic bedroom from Suzanne Kasler.
Creative use of nautical flags.
Great “play” with varying stripe patterns.
Another “play” with stripes. Love the shuttered doors in the background.

Keep those great posts coming from Fredericksburg!
I so hope your daughter is okay. What a scary thing – I am sorry you (and she) had to go through that. I love the photos you shared, especially the screened door with the quilts displayed – how clever is that?!! Happy after the 4th!
Love all the pics!! and the bedroom with the red ceiling!
Thanks Rene for your comments today….I agree, love that red ceiling…..imagine that room withOUT that red ceiling, and the room would not be so dynamic. The designer of that room had a great vision with the red ceiling idea, b/c it makes it pop!
So sorry to hear about your daughter. Sure hope that she is ok. All those images make me stand up tall and know that each life is a gift!
